When I was younger, weight loss was so much easier. I knew that going into my latest program of exercise and food reduction, so I accepted that it probably wasn't going to be a fast endeavor. Still my clothes are fitting better, and a picture taken of me this weekend at a party didn't make me cringe when I saw it. It's truly a great experience, even if it isn't a fast one.
I have to "weigh in" at work for our team weight-loss contest. As of this morning, I've lost about 16 pounds since the middle of August! It seems as if I've lost more weight than that, because everything I wear is looser - almost to switching down a size in some cases. But chances are I'm putting on muscle (heavy) and removing fat at the same time (not as heavy). That's why I'm concerned more about the fit than I am about the scale weight.
So just how much is 16 pounds anyway? Well, it's like taking 16 packages of butter out of your backpack before a hike, with four sticks of butter per package, and leaving them in the fridge for the foreseeable future. So that means I've lost 64 sticks of butter since August!
Ahh...sweet butter, but sweeter goodbye...
