Happy New Year 2009!
Wow...what a year it has been huh? Did anyone see 2008 coming, full bore, like a Mack Truck late for the scales? We've seen tragedy, fear, history, greed, hope, and a measure on unwanted excitement. But we all made it through, despite the twists and turns that engulfed the entire planet. I think we're all coming out of 2008 with a new sense of priority and, most definitely, and tighter wallet.
My hope for 2009 is more time to ride my bicycle(s). We probably all want to get more physical activity into our lives. I would also like to spend more time working on the house, and maybe even get Big Daddy into the garage! Sherry is also interested in getting our house in better shape.
Sadly, we've had to backtrack on the Bikes For Tykes project in 2008 because of other responsibilities; for 2009 it's still a worthy program that we can maintain on life support for the time being. If there is any time in American history when the underprivileged need bikes to ride, it would be now.
My hope for family and friends in 2009 is that your year is filled with joy and happiness; it may be a bit tougher to find with the economy in the tank, but hey you should always try.
Happy New Year everyone!
