With my regular digital camera currently on a business trip with Sherry, it left me without the primary workhorse of my ragtag fugitive camera fleet. Friend Roger came to the rescue by loaning me his Canon PowerShot SD600 until Sherry is back from abroad. Best thing about Point-N-Shoot cameras is that you can borrow somebody's, power it up, and take a shot without having to read a manual. Certainly helps that this one is 8 megapixels, which is twice the picture quality of my 4mp Olympus.
Yesterday morning I took it with me on my walk before work, and saw this sunrise within 300 of my door. I zoomed in, tried to use the neighborhood trees as some natural framing, and shot once. I could see that I got a shot on the camera, but it wasn't until I got home and downloaded to the PC that I saw how clear and sharp it was. Sure, the colors are a bit weird (I even "saturated" a bit to get the final result), but I like the things like the clarity, the cloud lines, and the spread across the sky. This camera is a real winner.
Hmmm...maybe it wasn't a good idea to borrow something that I like this much. Sorry Roger...umm a wild pack of herbavores ate your Canon!
