Spinning ride of doom! No not really...Here's a mystery for you. In April of this year I shot a video of David exiting the Starship 2000 carnival ride, where he describes briefly what it's like inside. The video is just over a minute long and - digital video excepted - is a low-tech hand-held bookmark in our family timeline. So what's the mystery?
As of this morning, it has gotten 874 visits on YouTube from around the world, and gotten more comments than any of my other videos posted there.
I'm still trying to figure out why this video would hold so much interest with people. It's not unique - there are plenty of Starship 2000 videos on YouTube. It's not spiffy, or even riveting. I didn't even get any footage inside. But despite all that people continue to visit, leaving comments like "I love that ride!" and "I'm riding that one this weekend!" Overall it's nice to know that something so simple can bring happiness to so many...without violence or profanity.
