There's been plenty of media coverage today - old, new, Twitter, 2.0, whatever - about the inclement weather that struck us in the Central Puget Sound. Sherry and I had lunch with a friend up in Mukilteo, and barely got there due to hail and slush; for the record the roads were bare and wet when I left my home zip code. We mangled our way through the junk on the roads and had a wonderful time catching up over Chinese food, after which I dropped Sherry off at work near Woodinville before heading home. Then, at about 3pm, we got hit by snow - big flaky psycho snow that hit hard and made driving miserable even to the bus stop. In the meantime Sherry called to say the road out of her office was wall to wall cars trying to leave. She was stuck, which stressed me out to the point that I was worried either about her driving home or having to stay the night at a hotel near her office. But by 4:15pm the snow had quit and the blue skies started to erupt. Crazy day for weather, that's for sure. All this snow, sleet, junk-on-the-road makes me miss Fernando the 4X4 more and more each day. Fernando would go anywhere in any conditions, so long as you didn't mind getting 6mpg; hey mobility sometimes comes at a cost!
