The cars were turned in last week, and the racing was tonight. It all starts with what they call "Sibling Races," where the siblings of Scouts are also able to run (they even get prize ribbons). After that the races are done from youngest Scouts (Tiger Cubs) to oldest (Webelos). Results from the races were kept on a spreadsheet and then projected onto the wall for all to see. But for some reason the calculations were coming up all wrong. Darn technology...sometimes we're just better off with pencil and paper! Eventually they got the equations sorted out, but it took a few brainy Den Leaders to make things right.
Watch the race video on YouTube!
Winning the Pinewood Derby is based on the results of four races per car, on a different track for each race. The last car is removed from the track after each race and a new car is added. In the end David got 3rd Place for Tiger Cubs. Nice work!
