Grandma Martha - 100th Birthday

Today is Grandma Martha's birthday! If she was still with us, she'd be 100 years old. The fact that she made it to 98 was amazing in itself, and we were darn happy to have her around as long as we did.

As my sister Jan puts it:

We were so blessed to have her - I miss her so much, and can't seem to get over the habit of checking the Minnesota weather to see how her day will be, so she's on my mind very often.

I too have fallen into the trap of checking on Minnesota weather and news. Doesn't help that I now have a friend from here living there. Check out the picture above, taken when Grandma was young, and match to the picture below with Grandma and Great Grandchildren; doesn't young Emily look like her with those little round faces? It's amazing!
