Video: Visit to The Fun Forest

This weekend I had four days off (first official vacation days in nearly a year!). So on Saturday morning we headed out on some errands which included a trip to Archie McPhee for Pirate Bandages and then a visit to The Fun Forest.

As many people know, The Fun Forest is closing in 2009 after a long residency at Seattle Center. Both Sherry and I went there as kids; in 1977 or 1978 I spent the afternoon at Fun Forest by myself after the $5 I brought to Seattle Center wasn't enough to get into the Star Trek Convention (five bucks got me a lot of ride tickets then).

The above video was shot, as always, with my trusty Cingular 2125 camera phone in and around the kid rides. When it was all said and done I had 15 minutes of video to go through, but needed to whittle it down to two or three minutes. A "What-The-Heck" moment helped me decide to give it the look and feel of a film from the 1920s; it's not going to win any awards but it was fun to edit and find music to match.

Enjoy!
