Coffee has a special place in the Clark house; for a long time I didn't understand why I enjoyed coffee so much...until my Mom ordered black coffee with Mexican food at a family dinner a couple years ago. It all started to make sense then.
Given that background it's hard to simple be a coffee drinker. After awhile, the draw to be more involved with each cup is just too strong. Many folks know that I roast my own coffee beans, but not many know what that process looks like. So I shot a video with my trusty Cingular 2125 phone while roasting some beans the other night. I took a couple of hours and sewed together all the clips and put them to a swingin' tune from Brian Setzer Orchestra called "Jumpin' East of Java." But when I uploaded it to YouTube, the soundtrack got flagged for copyright infringement!
Not defeated, I scrambled over the Internet to some public domain music sources and found a song that has now officially been stuck in my head for the last 24 hours. I uploaded with the new song attached to the video, and voila! It stuck for the world to see!
So if you want to see how coffee gets roasted - or are just a fan of the smooth-yet-catchy Xavier Cugat soundtrack - watch the video and enjoy!
