We like our bikes, especially when the weather is good!Anyone living in this area can confirm that the weather recently has cooperating in a big way. Not only has it been warm, but it's been the type of weather that just draws people outside. As The Clark Boys have gotten older, bike rides have become more realistic. While Jack doesn't pedal, he's a willing passenger and loves trailer rides enough that he is eagerly looking for reasons to grab his helmet and go outside.
The other night David, Jack and I took a ride around the neighborhood and I shot video while we were out. It's decidedly low-tech looking, with its footage taken entirely from my trusty Cingular 2125 Camera Phone; it can shoot up to four minutes of footage before I have to offload it to a computer. While it's not high-grade, it's still fun to capture this stuff on something portable even if there are some drawback. One problem I experienced was that the phone - which uses a Microsoft operating system - does not use a video file format that any of my Microsoft-based PC software could understand. It meant that I had to buy what ended up being a a handy little piece of software from AVS4YOU for $39, which converted the MP4 file format to WMV and allowed me to edit the footage I shot. I've always had an interest in media, and do something like this always seemed out of reach until now. Ain't technology grand?
The final product of that bike ride footage can be seen HERE or in the Video Window below (if you can see it)!
