Sherry feels that one of the greatest gifts she got early on was the 1964 Gibson acoustic guitar that her Dad presented to her in the mid-1970s. She still has it; in fact she played it this morning before going to work. Naturally, with her musical background, she feels strongly about getting kids started early on music (I help by playing loud CDs in the truck).When we were cleaning out one of the bedrooms to make space for Jack's crib, I came upon this gem - a guitar Sherry bought when she was eight or nine years old. David shows a lot of interest in music, so Sherry gave it to him. He strummed it for three days after that. He even started to "write songs," and get Jack to sing along. We have tried to show him the proper way to care for a guitar, and that he shouldn't drag it on the ground to each room.
Look for David on stage someday!
